Siloed Security Survey, CTC Partnership and Security Pet Peeves: Heard on the Street Discussion

2014-08-19 04:40

The SilverSky Team holds its "Heard on the Street" call every week. On these calls, the team discusses hot security trends, current events and issues that our customers should be aware of. Below is a summary of the topics, which we present as a service to our customers and to the public.

Does your organization use a siloed security approach? SilverSky is conducting a brief survey to understand how many security alerts organizations receive on a daily basis and how many security products and tools organizations use. If you have insight into your organization’s IT and/or security department, we would appreciate your feedback on this survey. It will only take five minutes of your time. Thanks in advance for your help!

SilverSky partners with Japanese IT solutions provider CTC. Last week we announced our latest channel program move – a strategic partnership with ITOCHU Techno-Solutions Corp. (CTC), leading IT solutions provider in Japan. Tadataka Okubo, CTO, Director & Managing Executive Officer of CTC explained that “leveraging SilverSky’s deep security expertise will enable CTC to rapidly build a strong competitive position in the managed security market and strengthen our position as a global, end-to-end IT solutions provider.” Talkin’ Cloud’s Dan Kobialka reported on the news, “CTC will leverage SilverSky's technology to deliver managed security services to its customers as part of the agreement. SilverSky said the partnership also will enable both companies to capitalize on the rapidly growing managed security services market in Japan and the Asia Pacific region.”

What’s your security pet peeve? Tell us yours and you will have the chance to win a Jambox, Chromecast or an iPad. We are conducting a contest on Twitter via Offerpop and hope you will join in the fun sharing your security gripes. In order to participate, follow @SilverSky on Twitter and delight us with your favorite security pet peeve in 140 characters (be sure to include @SilverSky and #securitypetpeeve in the tweet). We’ll choose our favorites throughout the next few weeks. More information here: http://bit.ly/1oJpTCC.

That’s it for now. Stay safe out there!
