Michael McCaul had earlier alleged that like DNC, the Republican National Committee computers were also breached by Russian hackers.

Republican lawmaker Michael McCaul has clarified that he misspoke when he said in a recent interview that Republican National Committee (RNC) computers had been hacked by Russians, reports Reuters. This retraction follows the denial of such a breach by RNC communications chief Sean Spicer.

A Reuters report last month too suggested a hack on RNC while recently, Democratic National Committee head Donna Brazile alleged Russian agents were trying to manipulate the November presidential poll.
