Blizzard Entertainment’s network providers were reportedly hit by a distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) attack, causing latency, connection and login issues for some gamers.
The video game company confirmed the incident early Tuesday via its official customer support accounts on Twitter, stating it was actively monitoring the attack:
We are currently monitoring a DDOS attack against network providers which is affecting latency/connections to our games.

About two-and-a-half hours later, Blizzard reported the technical issues had since been resolved.

Although it was not made clear which games experienced disruptions, Blizzard acknowledged the attack impacted multiple titles. Meanwhile, many users stated they were experiencing problems with BattleNet and Overwatch.
In addition, the company’s EU customer support announced on Twitter it was also having issues with its community sites and forums:
We are currently experiencing issues with our community sites and forums. We will have them working again as soon as possible! #BlizzCS

The attack is the second one this month disrupting Blizzard’s service. Less than three weeks ago, another DDoS attack caused issues across several popular games, including World of Warcraft, Hearthstone and Overwatch.
According to the International Business Times, a hacker group known as PoodleCorp reportedly claimed responsibility for the previous attack on the developer’s servers.
The hacker group is also allegedly responsible for crashing the servers of the wildly popular Pokémon Go last month, which took place just hours after the game rolled out in 26 European countries.
